One man was taken to hospital after a “serious collision” in Banbridge

One man was hospitalized after a “serious road crash” in Ko Down on Saturday night.

The incident involved a car and a pedestrian on Newry Street in Banbridge around 5pm on April 30.

Police have informed drivers that Bridge Street and Newry Street have been closed in both directions as a result of the crash.

In a statement, PSNI added: “Drivers are advised to avoid the area and look for an alternative route.”

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a call at 999 at 4:59 pm on Saturday, April 30, following reports of a car accident involving a car and a pedestrian on Newry Street, Banbridge.

“NIAS sent an emergency team for the incident.

“After the assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Craigavon ​​Area Hospital.
