A man is dead and another is in hospital after a shooting in northern Etobico on Saturday afternoon.
Toronto police were called to a complex in the Mount Olive Drive and Kipling Avenue area just before 6pm for reported gunfire.
Insp. Scott Pearches said officers arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken urgently to the local trauma center, where he was found dead on the spot.
The investigation was taken over by the Homicide Department.
“It simply came to our notice then. Investigators are working at the scene here, as well as the homicide department, to gather as much evidence as possible, “Pearches said.
He added that another man with gunshot wounds was found in the nearby community center.
Paramedics in Toronto said he was taken to a trauma center with serious injuries.
Police are asking anyone with information that could help determine what happened to contact investigators.
“It was a warm evening. “It’s a daily shooting that happened again just before 6pm with a lot of people around,” Pearches said. “And because the weather is so good, we urge people to come out and provide information.”
