Ottawa police have busted a drug distribution network in the capital

Ottawa police seized 210kg of cannabis, 1.5kg of cocaine, 7,000 methamphetamine pills, cash and a luxury vehicle as part of a three-month investigation into drug trafficking in the capital.

Seven people are facing charges after officers searched six homes in Ottawa on Friday morning after an investigation called the Project Road Runner.

“The investigation is focusing on a drug distribution network operating in the city,” police said.

The search warrants were carried out at the homes of McWatters Road, Woodridge Crescent, Foxridge Way, Hearst Way, Banner Road and Barnstone Drive.

In a press release Saturday afternoon, police outlined what was seized during the investigation;

  • 30 grams of fentanyl

  • Nearly 3 kilograms of cannabis concentrate (smashing)

  • Over 14 kilograms of cannabis for consumption
  • Nearly 7 kilograms of phenacetin
  • Over 3 kg of psilocybin (magic mushrooms)
  • Approximately $ 175,000 in Canadian money
  • 1 luxury vehicle
  • 1 body armor

Police also said various tools for drug trafficking and copies of firearms were seized.

Six people have been arrested and charged with a number of crimes under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Penal Code and the Cannabis Act, including possession for sale / distribution.

Police said officers are still searching for a seventh man in connection with the investigation.

“Gin Paluk, 30, from Ottawa, is facing charges and is currently wanted by police on a number of charges related to the investigation, including involvement in / contributing to a criminal organization and possession of a Schedule I substance for trafficking,” he said. the police.
