Outlander Finale Summary: Season 6, Episode 8 – I’m Not Alone

Maybe one day Claire and Jamie Fraser will end the Outlander season by sitting in the sun and happily sipping the best whiskey they’ve ever made. But the finale of season 6 is not that day.

Things go from bad to really awful in Episode 8, “I’m Not Alone,” a seasonal caper who once again separates Mr. and Mrs. Fraser and puts Clare in mortal danger. Read about the highlights of the class.

GREAT HOUSE UNDER SIEGE The episode begins where the previous one stopped: Richard Brown and his “safety committee” insist that Jamie betray Clare so they can arrest her for killing Malva, or things will get ugly. Lizzie, Joe, and Mrs. Bug run for help, leaving themselves and themselves in the Great House. And soon the situation turned into a full-blown firefight, with Claire and Jamie barricading themselves in the house and returning fire as they dodged Brown’s bullets.

RELATED STORIES

“He wanted that, not to arrest you, but to have an excuse to kill you,” Jamie snorts to his wife as they try to stay alive. Eventually, Brown waves a white handkerchief and approaches the house to say that they only want to take Claire to a nearby town called Salisbury, where there is a judge and a court. But Jamie flatly refuses, throwing Brown’s hat out of his hand as a warning.

So Fraser hides in the bulletproof house they built, and Claire wonders if – if Jamie is right and the commission plans to set fire to the site as night falls – this is the night the obituary found by Roger and Bree come true. She points out that it is May, and the newspaper clipping says that the fatal fire occurred on Saturday before January 21. But Jamie knows firsthand how little you can trust the accuracy of what is printed in a wide sheet. So they settle in, restless, and hope for reinforcements to come soon.

They don’t. That’s how they talk, and in their conversation, Jamie asks her, “How many times do you say I’ve been close to death?” the snake bit him. And then, of course, is the question of when it was smashed to pieces. I think you’re a tough person to kill, Claire thinks. “It brings me a lot of comfort.” Jamie tells the story of how a French fortune teller once informed him that she had nine lives, like a cat. Amused, Claire takes a nap for a while.

COMPROMISE OF KIND Jamie wakes her abruptly as the fishermen approach, carrying torches. Hiram Crombie is at the head of the pack, which Jamie sees as a good sign: Hiram will not allow them to burn down the house. He’s there to negotiate, but the crowd just wants to see Claire tied up. There are many angry words and shaken fists, but in the end Hiram offers Jamie to go with Claire to see her safely in court.

That’s when reinforcements arrive … but these are the Ardsmore people, and there are too few of them to be of real help. Jamie whispers to Claire that they should probably go with Brown or it will be a battle to the death. That’s when Tom Christie steps forward and says he will travel with the group to make sure “no more harm will be done.” Jamie agrees, they plan to leave in the morning, and Jamie and Claire probably spend their last night at home under guard.

What do you do when you’re terrified and have time to kill before dawn? Yes, Jamie and Claire are turning to each other in bed – I have a feeling that Sam Huan’s back prosthesis has a little more effect this season than normal, right? – and makes love. When morning came, they were packed in the back of a wagon and taken away with Brown’s gang.

WHEN TOM CHRISTIE IS THE BEST BET, YOU ARE IN PROBLEM | During a stop on the way, Tom brings Clare some food. She is surprised, but Jamie tells her to eat it because it is given with care. Richard Brown, who is riding forward, suddenly returns with news: There is no longer a court in Salisbury. And because Jocasta is so connected to Cross Creek, which is the next closest settlement, they will continue to Wilmington – which is 200 miles away.

Through it all, Tom watches Claire, and Jamie watches Tom. If the show follows the example of the book here, it will be important later.

There is much more trouble as the group continues on its way and Jamie is eventually released to pee. Then Ian finds him and tells him he’s around – with friends – and they’ll attack when Jamie gives the floor. Jamie tells him to wait for now. But it wasn’t long before Brown’s men separated Jamie and Claire during a water shutdown, knocked out Jamie, and set off with Claire. Brown approaches Mrs. Fraser, who is very understandably upset, and explains that she is not doing all this in revenge for Lionel. “My brother was a fraud,” he said, calling Claire’s gang rape “cruel and unforgivable.” But she’s a killer, so, well done, all this nonsense can’t be helped!

As Claire weeps, Tom Christie gets up and says he has an honest word from Brown (pfft) that Jamie won’t be killed. And so he will ride with her to ensure her safety. She says he will hardly meet her eyes in the coming days. “He was obviously worried.” She suspects that he thinks Jamie is dead and just doesn’t want to tell her.

GOD BLESS YOU, IAN They arrived in Wilmington and Claire was immediately thrown into jail. Tom hands her a bag of coins. he whispers that Jamie is alive and advises her to “Trust God. He will deliver the righteous from danger. ” He also promises to stay in the city: you can trust that. Unfortunately, this is the best news Claire has heard about DNI.

Meanwhile, Jamie is tied to a pole near the ocean. Brown’s men take turns beating him and informing him that he will be boarded a ship leaving for Scotland that day. “You will never see your witch as a woman again,” one vowed. Another is about to hit Jamie with the butt of his pistol, but gets an arrow in his torso before he can strike. Ian and the Cherokee get on and ravage Jamie’s captors, all but the one who put his gun to Jamie’s head. As the Chief Bird prepares to take down the man, Jamie stops him, shouting, “Don’t! Don’t!” He knows where Clare is. Ian smiles. “So do we, Uncle.” And with that found, the Main Bird kills man. “I told you I would fight you, bear killer,” he says with a smile.

HAPPY DISCOVERY Meanwhile, on the way to the seminary in Edenton – after a VERY SWEET moment, when little Jamie bends down in his mother’s womb and says to his baby brother and sister: “Hello, baby. I love you very much. ”Bree realizes that the boy has an itchy head. It turned out that there were lice. And when she and Roger cut his hair to get rid of the pests, they realize that he has developed a nevus (or mole) on his scalp. Roger doesn’t worry; they are benign and he has one in about the same place. “They’re hereditary,” he says, followed by a rhythm in which both Rog and Bree realize what it might mean to be Jamie’s place. Fortunately, Roger decides he wants to cut his hair, and Bree does the honor.
