Passengers on a commercial flight were left in tears after a “drunk” man touched a young woman – before two arrests were made.

The incident happened on Tuesday night during a flight operated by Buzz – a subsidiary of Ryanair – from Ukraine through Poland to Dublin.

Irish Senator Timmy Dooley, who was flying home from the war-torn country, said the culprit was part of a group of four men, all intoxicated.

And they all kept trying to sit in vacant seats next to women, reports the Irish Mirror.

Fianna Fail, a 53-year-old politician, said the men’s behavior, which also includes “very sexualized language”, made the trip “uncomfortable”.

He described how the man “touched a woman’s back and she was very upset”.

The situation became “intense” as two other passengers then intervened to “intervene and attack” the attacker, Mr Dooley explained.

He added: “There were crying women and women with children who may have fled the war in Ukraine.

He has now called for all such disturbing passengers to be added to a watch list and face lifelong flight bans.

He said: “Heroes like this should be banned from flying for life and never be able to injure air passengers again.

A Garda police spokeswoman confirmed that officers had been called to Dublin airport in connection with the incident and two men had been arrested.

She added that they were later released, but “investigations are ongoing”.

Mr Dooley, who was traveling with Fianna Fail MEP Billy Keleher and an operator, said the cabin crew had asked politicians to help calm the situation on board.

He continued to congratulate the stewardess and staff for their “professionalism” in dealing with the situation “given the level of activity”.

“The flight attendant was very discreet when they asked for help and asked us to go and sit next to the men to talk to them and try to calm them down.

“I have to commend the Ryanair team on board, which was really professional and clearly trained at the highest level to deal with these difficult situations.”

A Ryanair spokeswoman said: “The crew of this flight from Krakow to Dublin called Garda for help on arrival after three passengers disrupted the flight.

“The plane landed normally and the gardai removed these passengers before the other passengers got off the plane safely.”
