Penticton RCMP recovers stolen mail

Mountains in Penticton say they have recovered “tons and tons of stolen mail”, including important tax documents, during a recent investigation.

Officials responded to a call for a “parked truck with a group of people inside” in the early morning hours of April 22, according to a Penticton RCMP press release.

When they arrived, police identified the truck as one that had been reported stolen. Police arrested both passengers in the car with unfulfilled orders.

Police did not specify where the vehicle was found in the city.

“We recovered tons and tons of stolen mail,” Const said. Ryan Crisis, the lead investigator in the case, said in a statement.

“The letters included people’s tax returns, T4 and other important postal documents.”

Anyone expecting important mail between April 10 and 22 and still not receiving it should contact the sender, the RCMP said.
