Philadelphia shooting: 2 killed, 2 wounded after shooting on South Bucknell Street in Point Breeze

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Two people were killed and two others were injured after gunshots were fired again and again in the Point Breeze area of ​​Philadelphia on Thursday night.

Families, including young children, were outside on a summer night when a shooting broke out in the block around 8:45 p.m. on South Bucknell and Oakford streets.

A home surveillance video captured the scene as gunfire was heard and residents hid behind parked vehicles.

In the video, a resident is heard shouting, “Where are the children?”

The children in the block were not injured in the shooting, police said.

All four shooting victims, men aged 20 and 30, were hit several times. They were taken to a district hospital for treatment.

A 36-year-old man living in the block was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. Another 36-year-old man died about an hour later.

A 28-year-old man is in serious condition in hospital.

A 26-year-old man who was shot three times in the leg is in stable condition.

Police say all four men who were shot were involved in some way; one of them had a gun and is believed to be one of the armed men.

More than 30 used cartridge cases were found at the site.

“There were a number of people shooting at the time of the incident, and we know that a silver or gray vehicle left the scene – we believe it was also involved and contained some of the armed men,” said Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace. .

Police continue to inspect various corners of the camera to determine how many armed men there were and who they were.

No arrests have been made.
