Police have named a 20-year-old man who died after being stabbed by an assailant who forcibly entered his home in east London.
Elliott Francis was found with multiple knife wounds by police officers in his bedroom at a house in Hudson Close, Pleistoce, on Tuesday.
He was treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance and the London Air Ambulance, but died on the spot.
The forces said the “frantic attack” was carried out by a black man in black clothes who forcibly broke into the property and stabbed Mr Francis several times.
They added that the attacker left the place on foot to Park Grove and then to Chad Green.
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen said an investigation into the murder was under way, adding that the victim’s family was backed by experts.
She said: “Our inquiries include door-to-door inquiries in the area and checking hours of CCTV footage from a number of surrounding areas.
“I am grateful to those people who have already shown up to talk to us, and I urge anyone who has information who has not yet been contacted to call us immediately.
“Even the smallest information can confirm something we have already been told, or it may be the missing part of the timeline of the events we are building.
“Our mission is to eliminate dangerous weapons and the dangerous people who use them from the streets of London.
“Please help us make your city safer by telling us what you know.”
