Fracture – A man died and another was injured after “double piercing”
GMP announced that they are appealing for information after a double stabbing in Ancoats tonight.
A man believed to be in his 20s was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene and his relatives have been informed.
Another 20-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for leg injuries.
Chief Detective Wes Knights of the GMP Major Incident Team said: “I send our condolences to the relatives of the person who unfortunately died and our best wishes to the person being treated in hospital. Specially trained staff will be sent to support them.
“We are in the early stages of our investigation, but we are conducting extensive investigations to establish the full circumstances of this incident. Members of the public should expect to see additional officers at Ancoats in the coming days.
“While officers are gathering evidence from the scene and the surrounding area, I would like to take this opportunity to urge anyone with information to share it with us – it can also be done anonymously through Crimestoppers. We also ask anyone who has a camera to manage footage from Ancoats tonight to contact us. “
