Edmonton police arrested a suspect after an elderly woman was pushed off the Jubilee LRT platform on rails on Monday.
On Tuesday night, police said they had arrested a man in connection with the incident, with the help of transit security officers and transit officers.
Police say the suspect did not know the victim and said it was a “violent, unprovoked attack on a senior”.

This happened around 20:20 on April 25. The woman was standing on the LRT platform on 83 Avenue and 114 Street waiting for a train when the man “unexpectedly ran out and pushed the woman off the LRT platform,” EPS said.

The woman has serious but life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by BMP.
In an update Tuesday night, police said they would share more information related to Wednesday’s arrest.
