Police have issued a 48-hour search warrant in Cwmbran after several reports of anti-social behavior in the city. Employees have additional powers to deal with such conduct from 6:00 pm on Friday, April 22, to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 24.
The order covers the city center, the bus station and the residential streets nearby. According to the order, employees can order groups to leave an area if they are involved in antisocial behavior or disorder, if members of society are harassed, disturbed or suffering, or if employees believe that their behavior may lead to antisocial behavior. If such groups return to the area after being relocated, they face arrest, Guent police said in a statement announcing the relocation.
The force added that there have been numerous reports of antisocial behavior in Cwmbran since Wednesday (April 20th). Inspector Shane Underwood said: “Antisocial behavior and related disorders are completely unacceptable. This can have a negative impact on the quality of life of our communities and will not be tolerated in Gwent. You can read all our stories about Cwmbran here.

“Our employees are committed to protecting our communities and will take action against anyone who intends to cause harm or disorder. If you have any concerns about antisocial behavior and see us in our patrols, please stop to talk to us.
“Alternatively, you can report your concerns by calling 101 or sending us a direct message via Facebook or Twitter. While there are scattering orders, especially during the Easter holidays, we would like parents to make sure they know where their children are and continue to talk to them about the impact their behavior can have on our cities and neighbors. “
