Syracuse, New York – Police have identified a 24-year-old man who died after a shooting in Armory Square in Syracuse, injuring four others shortly after midnight.
Hawk Lual was shot dead while on the sidewalk in front of Al’s Wine and Whiskey Lounge on South Clinton Street early Saturday morning, Syracuse Police Chief Kenton Buckner told a news conference Saturday afternoon.
There was a dispute before the shooting, Buckner said, but did not disclose any other details about the differences.

At 12:13 a.m. Saturday, police responded to several gunshots in block 300 on South Clinton Street, according to a sergeant. Thomas Blake, Syracuse police spokesman.
Five men aged 20-25 have gunshot wounds. All five were rushed to a state hospital in the state.
Lual was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. A 23-year-old man is in critical condition, Blake said. The other three were life-threatening, he said.
The other four injured have not yet been identified.
The shooting was in an area with many popular bars and restaurants. Popular street venues include Al’s Wine and Whiskey Lounge, Three Lives, Clinton Street Pub and Funk ‘n Waffles.
Several evidence markers and loose clothing were scattered on the sidewalk in front of Al’s Wine and Whiskey Lounge. The shooting took place just meters from the popular bar, Blake said.
So far, police have not announced any arrests or information about the suspects.
