Police report – NBC Chicago

Police in the southern suburbs of Flossmoor were recently called to the home of Cook County Attorney Kim Fox, whose husband dialed 911 during a domestic dispute with the prosecutor, according to a police report provided by sources.

At approximately 10:09 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, officers responded to Fox’s home when her husband Kelly Fox called 911 to report a domestic incident involving his wife, according to the report.

Kelly informed police that Kimberly, as Kim Fox was mentioned in the police report, was angry “about something posted on Facebook that he did,” the document said.

Then, when Kimberly asked him to leave, he refused, the officer said. At that moment, Kimberly “became physical” and Kelly said she blocked him from leaving the bathroom, police said.

Kimberly “grabbed his collar and threw away his video game controller,” the report said. “He tried to turn on the TV and Kimberly grabbed the controller from his hand and threw the controller.”

The officer wrote that while Kelly was explaining what had happened, Kimberly said, “It’s all true.” Kelly told police that Kimberly hit him and said he was hit on the left cheek, according to the documents. The officer used his flashlight to see Kelly’s cheek and “did not notice any indicators to support his claim that he had been hit.” Kelly told police he just wanted “someone to know what’s going on here,” said Kimberly was “physically aggressive” and just wanted to stop it, authorities said.

Kimberly informed police that she laid her hands on Kelly, but this was only to “help get him out of the house,” the officer said. She also claims she did not hit Kelly, according to the report. When police asked Kimberly if she felt safe at home with Kelly, she said, “I mean, he’s not crazy,” the report said. Both husband and wife have informed police that they have been together for more than 20 years and things “have never been physical.”

Kimberly said she believed Kelly called police only to hurt her, according to the report.

Neither of them chose to leave home after the incident.

In a joint statement, Kelly and Kim Fox said: “This is a personal family matter and we ask that you provide our family with respect and confidentiality.”
