“Porn MP” Neil Parish refuses to give up because he loses a whip

The interviewer said: “This is quite shocking, the assumption that it happened. I mean honestly, whoever it is, they will definitely have to remove the whip, right?”

Mr Parish replied: “I think the whips’ office will do a thorough investigation and we will wait and see this result. And I think you know, that’s what you’re going to have to decide [about] what action will be taken. “

He said there was no “cultural” problem in parliament, but added to the accusation: “It must be treated seriously.”

This comes after a week dominated by accusations of parliamentary sloppiness and sexism that threaten to overshadow the Tories’ campaign for the May 5th local elections.

Karen Bradley, who chairs the procedure, said allegations of porn and misogyny could have as much of an impact as the cost scandal.

Tory women MPs broadcast public stories about the sexist behavior of colleagues and called on party leaders to do more to change the culture.

Speculation has been circulating for days about the identity of the male Tory MP, who was accused by two colleagues on Tuesday night of watching pornography in municipalities.

Linked to the allegations before the publication, Mr Parish told The Telegraph that he had discussed the issue with Chris Heaton-Harris, the chief whip, and was waiting for the investigation to be completed.

It was only after they were informed of an forthcoming report by The Telegraph that the Tories removed the whip from Mr Parish, which means that he is now sitting as an independent MP in the Municipalities.

Mr Parish was elected in 2010 and is chairman of the Committee on the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, a position which means that he is considered a “senior Member”. Farmer by profession, married with two children and two grandchildren.
