Pounds of heroin bricks hidden in the closet while detectives make major drug arrests

Remarkable photos published by detectives show the scale of a huge bust of drugs that revealed pounds of heroin and cocaine hidden in the closet.

The attacks came two weeks after a van was stopped by police in Houghton carrying seven kilograms of cocaine, allegedly after the driver fled the scene. This halt and further attacks led police to a total of 10kg of cocaine and 31kg of heroin with a street value estimated at around £ 4 million.

Two men have already been charged with drug trafficking following an operation conducted by the Merseyside Specialized Organized Crime Partnership, which consists of officials from the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Merseyside Police.

According to the NCA, on April 6, officials signaled for Van to stop in Houghton, as he was believed to be involved in the supply of drugs. The driver stopped and allegedly fled, but officers removed seven kilograms of cocaine from the vehicle.

The investigation continued and two attacks were carried out yesterday, as a result of which two men were arrested, 36 kilograms of Class A drugs were seized and 2,000 British pounds in cash. Gareth Purcell, 65, of Sefton Park’s Ullet Road, will appear in a Liverpool magistrate’s court accused of possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine and concerned about the supply of cocaine.
