Prince Harry revealed his secret meeting with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth late last week after visiting her in Windsor while on his way to the Invictus Games, reported The sun.
The Duke of Sussex stopped in the UK for a few minutes as he traveled to the Netherlands for a sporting event with his wife, Megan Markle, and said it was “great to see her (the Queen)”.
Talking to BBC on Monday, Prince Harry said the 95-year-old monarch had shared messages with him about British veterans participating in the Invictus Games.
“She had a lot of messages for the UK team that I have already passed on …” said Harry.
He added that the queen would travel to the games if her health allowed; the monarch is struggling with mobility problems and exhaustion after catching COVID-19 earlier this year.
Prince Harry concluded; “It was great to see her and I’m sure she would be happy to be here if she could.”
Harry and Megan’s last meeting with the queen marked their first meeting with the monarch in March 2020, when they retired from their roles as senior royalty.
They were last seen with the Queen during the British Community Day service on 8 March 2020.
