“Did you regret doing it at one point?” ABC7’s Stephanie Sierra asked.

“No … it was fun,” De Champ said. “I would do it again.”

The student climbed the 1,070-foot building, periodically stopping to use his phone to post videos on social media. He told ABC7 he planned to climb for a month using Google Maps to assess the building.

De Champ arrived at SFO early Tuesday morning from Las Vegas, where he is currently enrolled as a senior at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. As soon as he entered, he said he took Uber straight to Salesforce and started climbing around 9am

“Were you scared?” Sierra asked.

“No … I cut off my legs, which means taking my legs off the wall and hanging one on one arm to show a little, you know?” Deschamps said before giggling. “I wanted to post a few videos to come out while I’m in jail.”

The anti-abortion activist says he made the climb in hopes of raising $ 1 million to support anti-abortion charities and “save lives”. It is not clear how much money has been raised.

“These doctors are literally killing these babies on the table and leaving them to die,” De Champ said. “We are not trying to shout at women who want to have an abortion, we do not want to blame them … we just want to tell them that there are other possibilities.

De Champ told ABC7 that the only thing that went wrong was that he was thirsty and tired towards the end of the climb.

According to his website, De Champa’s other goal is to get Washington-based obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Cesare Santangelo to jail for abortion.

“I’m not sorry about anything,” he said. “We’re sending a message.”

Last year, Des Champs climbed the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas to protest COVID’s restrictions. He was also arrested then, but said the charges were dropped.

The SFPD arrested De Champs for two offenses, one for violating the border and the other for resisting a police investigation, for failing to comply with police orders to disembark or stop climbing. He was quoted and released Tuesday afternoon.
