Protests in Michigan after a police officer shot a black refugee in the back of the head world

Hundreds of protesters marched through Michigan after videos were released showing a white police officer shooting a black man in the back of the head while stopping.

Patrick Lioja, a 26-year-old refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was killed in the front garden of a house in Grand Rapids after a brief chase followed by a fight with an unnamed officer.

On Wednesday, Eric Winstrom, who was appointed city police chief just a month ago, released four videos of the shooting, including a video recorded by a passenger in Lioja’s car. The shooting took place on April 4.
