The Queen returned to Windsor Castle before the platinum anniversary celebrations this week.
The 96-year-old monarch was photographed at Aberdeen Airport after staying at Balmoral, her Scottish mansion, a few days before celebrations began to mark the 70th anniversary of her reign.
She was then captured again and taken to Windsor Castle.
The festivities take place during a four-day banking holiday beginning on Thursday.
