WASHINGTON – Democrat and Senate Republican leaders have sought to quickly track a nearly $ 40 billion US aid package to help Ukraine fight Russia, only to be blocked by Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky by pushing the adoption of the bill next week.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., New York) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Kentucky) came together to the House to seek the unanimous consent of all 100 senators to allow an immediate vote on the bill.
