TULSA, Okla. – The PGA 2022 Championship ends on Sunday and while there are a number of golfers at the top of the rankings who have never won much – not to mention a PGA Tour event – the huge talent competing for the Wanamaker Trophy will not be missed down the field. . Mito Pereira has a three-stroke lead over the final round as he tries to become the first Chilean to win a major championship and the first debutant to win the championship since Keegan Bradley in 2011 at the Atlantic Athletic Club.
Pereira is joined in the final pair by Matt Fitzpatrick, who will try to capture his own piece of history in the Southern Hills. With the victory, Fitzpatrick will not only become the first Englishman to win a major championship after Danny Willett at the 2016 Masters, but also the first in his country to win the PGA Championship in over 100 years. The two will fight in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with former Wake Forest teammates Will Zalatoris and Cameron Young in the group ahead. For the first time since at least 2000, the top four in the final round of a major championship are without a win in the PGA Tour.
With so much inexperience, Sunday is set to be a memorable end to the PGA Championship. CBS Sports will update this story with results and highlights from the PGA Championship below. See the live results at the top of this story, a more detailed ranking and the 4th round.
