RB free agent Philip Lindsay agrees to a one-year deal with Colts

Philip Lindsey has a new home.

The runner has agreed to a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts, his agent said on Tuesday.

Lindsay fought hard as a nomadic runner in 2021, starting the season with Houston Texas and making an average of a paltry 2.6 yards of wear in 50 attempts before being released in late November. Lindsay landed with the needy runners Miami Dolphins a day later and managed to slightly improve her numbers to 3.1 yards per carry in 38 attempts.

Statistically, Lindsay was essentially a non-factor in 2021 with both teams, recording 249 yards and one touchdown in 88 attempts, while catching just four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown. He joins the Colts team, which already has All-Pro stud Jonathan Taylor and flexible back Nyheim Hines in its depth chart.

Lindsay offers potential as a water bug-like runner, capable of affecting land and air. He will have to fight for playing time if he wants to return to the 1000+ yard form of his first two seasons in the NFL.
