RCMP is seeking further information on Canmore, Alta. hit and run

A few days after a woman from Canmore was hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 1, the RCMP said they were still looking for public information to find the driver who hit her.

The Canmore RCMP was called to the scene of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Highway 1 in the early morning hours of May 1st.

The victim, a 20-year-old woman from Canmore, was pronounced dead on the spot.

People close to her on social media identified her as Ariana (Ari) Blackwood, who turned 20 the day she died.

“Ari was a kind, gentle, loving, intelligent friend to anyone who was lucky enough to know her. She always found time for anyone who reached out, no matter what she needed,” the Facebook post said.

“We are absolutely devastated and devastated by this tragic loss. We ask for help and ask anyone who may have some information or may have seen something to come out and contact the local Canmore RCMP team. “
