Employees of the agency hired by P&O Ferries refuse to work on a ship that lost electricity and sailed into the Irish Sea for two hours yesterday, The times understand.
The European Causeway, which can carry up to 410 passengers, suffered a complete power outage at 12.25pm while five miles from Larne, Co. Antrim. Three lifeboats were pressed to help the ship along with a tug.
He regained engine power at 2:14 p.m., according to ship tracking data, and was escorted to port. The good weather in the Irish Sea was welcomed to prevent a serious accident.
