The rookie commanders announced a mini-camp this weekend, but one notable member of the group was not there for all the activities.

First-round pick Jahan Dotson did not take part in the team’s training session on Saturday because he returned to Penn State for graduation ceremonies. The broadcaster said graduation was a big deal for him because “a lot of people in my family haven’t achieved that goal,” but that he has no plans to take a break from the mini-camp until he talks to head coach Ron Rivera.

“In fact, I was ready to miss graduation and be here in practice,” Dotson said. “But he said it happens once in a million. He was everything for me to go, so honestly, I didn’t even think to miss a workout while he somehow picked it up. “

Dotson said the combination of drafting, starting mini-camp and graduating from college was “the most exciting, spontaneous week of my life.” He will now turn his full attention to football, hoping to have an immediate and positive impact on Washington’s attack.
