The SAIT LRT station was closed on Wednesday morning after Calgary police said a man had been found with a “possible” neck injury in Hounsfield Heights and Briar Hill.
The Calgary Police Department confirmed to Global News that the situation developed around 5:27 in the morning when the man was found in block 1400 on 14 Avenue NW. Police added that a “significant blood trail” was found nearby.
EMS confirms that the man was taken from the LRT station and taken to Foothills Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
The CPS confirmed to Global News that a man was found near the LRT station at 5:27 a.m. and was sent to hospital in critical condition.

The CPS is patrolling the Hillhurst neighborhood, hoping to find security camera footage of what may have led to the man’s injuries.

At 5:47 a.m., Calgary Transit said it would not stop at the SAIT LRT station due to a police problem.
The shuttles will be at Lions Park and Sunside Station to allow transit passengers on the Red Line to continue their journey.
