“Saturday Night Live” became medieval on an expired draft of the Supreme Court of Judge Samuel Alito, which will cancel Rowe against Wade this weekend.
In the open, the show noted that Alito cites a 13th-century treatise by Henry de Bracton that mentions the punishment for killing a fetus he said.
“All prominent public authorities describe abortion after acceleration as a crime,” Alito wrote in his opinion. The 13th-century treatise of Henry de Bracton explains that if a man “hits a pregnant woman or gives her poison, causing an abortion, if the fetus is already formed and alive – and especially if it is alive – he commits murder. . “
Instead of presenting himself as current political figures, as in most cold openings, the sketch show went back to the 13th century to visualize Alito’s historical background, which he sarcastically called “a moment of clarity almost a thousand years ago that put so much a clear basis for what our laws should be in 2022.
The sketch was unveiled by guest host Benedict Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange), dressed in medieval attire in what looked like an English castle, and wondered to similar members of the cast, James Austin Johnson and Andrew Dismokes, whether there should be an anti-abortion law. .

“Like the law we have against pointed shoes?” Johnson asked.
“Or the law that if you hunt deer in the royal forest, they cut off your genitals?” Dismux added.

Cumberbatch said he wanted to create a law that would “stand the test of time” and that people would look back in hundreds of years and say, “You don’t need to update this law at all. They nailed him in 1235.

As the three outlined the potential penalties for women who have abortions, Cumberbatch said: “The worst thing that can happen is if someone reveals this conversation to the city’s crybaby.”

With dramatic thunder, actor Kate McKinnon theatrically entered the room, waving her arms like a witch.
“My God, Oger!” Cumberbatch burst into tears, and she assured him that she was just a “woman in her 30s.”
However, she says she can see the future and that abortion laws will one day be repealed by “something called progress” and that about 50 years later “it will look like we may have to repeal progress”.
She added that “no matter how many choices we take away from women, we always have the choice to keep fighting!”
