Singer and songwriter Tom Grenan has revealed that he was attacked and robbed in New York after a performance Wednesday night.
The 26-year-old from Bedford in the United Kingdom spoke at The Bowery Ballroom in New York on Wednesday and took to Twitter and Instagram on Thursday to reveal that he was attacked unprovoked after the show.
Grenan’s manager, John Hawkins, posted a statement on the singer’s Instagram, revealing that he was in a “good mood” but also that he was canceling his performance on Friday night in Washington.

“In the early hours of this morning after Tom’s show in New York, he was the victim of an unprovoked attack and robbery in front of a bar in Manhattan,” the statement began.
“Tom is currently in the hospital, and doctors are assessing his injuries, which include a torn ear, a torn eardrum and a problem with his previously broken jaw,” the statement continued.
“However, Tom is in a good mood, but needs to recover temporarily while doctors assess his ability to continue his tour,” the statement added.

“Tom is desperate not to disappoint anyone, but we made the precautionary decision to postpone the show in Washington tomorrow until later, with details to follow,” the statement added.

“We will update future broadcasts if changes need to be made. “We want to thank the incredible fans of Tom in the United States for their support and understanding,” the statement concluded.

After the now canceled performance in Washington, Grenan has only three more planned stops on his US tour.
He is scheduled to play at Brighton Music Hall in Boston on Saturday, April 23, Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco on Tuesday, April 26 and The Troubador in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 27.
He has a break of more than a month after stopping in Los Angeles before starting the British stage of his tour in Cork, Ireland at The Marquee on 31 May.

Grenan has released two studio albums, Lighting Matches 2018 and Evering Road 2021, the latter of which topped the UK album chart.
He made his first hit in the UK Top 10 last year with Little Bit of Love, which peaked at # 7 and was certified silver by BPI.
He also had a top 10 hit with Let’s Go Home Together, collaborating with singer Ella Henderson.
