If you have taken off your winter tires for the season, you will want to be careful driving through the BC Interior mountain passes this weekend.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement due to potential waves on Coquihalla Highway, Okanagan Connector, Hope-Princeton Highway and Highway 3 between Paulson Summit and Kootenay Pass.

“Snow levels will remain at or below the levels of the mountain pass in southern British Columbia over the weekend. A disturbance approaching the south coast will pass into the south inland tonight and will leave the region late Saturday. Accumulations of snow are expected, but will vary depending on the location, “the statement said.

Drivers are told to be prepared for changing altitude travel conditions.
