The long-awaited unveiling of Starfield’s game and Hideo Kojima’s new game were the highlights of this year’s Xbox & Bethesda Showcase.

During tonight’s live broadcast, Microsoft is focusing on showing games that will be available to Xbox and PC users over the next 12 months.

It began with the first footage of the gameplay for Redfall – Arkane’s multiplayer vampire shooter, which has now been confirmed as first-person – and ended with an expanded look at Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG game. Both titles were recently postponed to 2023, with no new dates during today’s presentation.

Microsoft has also announced a series of new partnerships with notable developers – the most famous being Death Stranding and Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima.

According to its founder, Kojima Productions is now working with Xbox Game Studios on a “brand new game” that he “always wanted to make”, activated by Microsoft’s cloud technology. Kojima said the development “may take some time”, so we are unlikely to hear more about it any time soon.

Other announced partnerships include deals with Atlus to provide three Persona titles in the Xbox Game Pass, starting with Persona 5 Royal on October 21, and Riot Games to give Game Pass subscribers more access to their flagship games.

Subscribers will have unlocked all the characters in League of Legends and its spin-off Wild Rift, as well as the shooter Valorant, plus content in Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends digital card game Legends of Runeterra.

Not surprisingly, the Xbox Game Pass was the centerpiece of tonight’s revelations. It has been confirmed that about 20 titles will be available to Day 1 subscribers, including third-party titles such as Hollow Knight: Silkson, the new animated alien shooter Squanch Games High On Life, the turn-based strategy game Oxide Games Ara: History Untold, sci-fi multiplayer shooter Ark 2, Kepler Interactive’s Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, mechanically based Lightyear Frontier farming simulator, multiplayer action game Naraka: Bladepoint and a new game from Team Ninja Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

In fact, the only revelations that don’t seem to come in the Game Pass were Diablo 4 (for which Blizzard announced the latest character class, The Necromancer, and showed the first Xbox gameplay footage) and Overwatch 2, Blizzard’s free access – play arena shooter. which starts in early access on October 4th.

Microsoft showed more than 30 games during its showcase. You can catch up on everything from tonight’s showcase for the rest of the week in our handy All The Announcements collection.
