Strong winds and heavy rain will affect parts of the Sea Islands for the rest of the day, according to Environment Canada.
In Nova Scotia, Antigonish County, Guysborough County, Inverness-Maboo County and to the north, Inverness County south of Maboo and Richmond County are under wind warnings. Those areas will experience wind gusts of 90 km/h Saturday afternoon through late Saturday night.
Many areas in the province are still recovering from the damage caused by post-tropical storm Fiona in September.
Additionally, Antigonish County will experience high storm surge and high tide levels from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Victoria County is under a rainfall warning.
There are special weather forecasts for PEI and New Brunswick.
There will be higher than normal water levels in PEI and northern parts of New Brunswick from Kent County to Campbellton and Restigouche counties.
Ferry cancellation
There are restrictions on the Confederation Bridge affecting cars pulling trailers, motorcycles and high-board vehicles. Restrictions will remain in place until the wind subsides.
The sailings of some ferries are interrupted.
Marine Atlantic has canceled the 11:45am and 11:15pm sailings from North Sydney, North Carolina, and the 11:45am and 11:30pm sailings from Port au Basque, Netherlands
The company said passengers would be notified of rescheduled departure times.
Northumberland Ferries has canceled the 15:00 and 18:00 sailings from Wood Island, PEI and the 16:30 and 19:30 sailings from Caribou, NC
MV Fundy Rose scheduled to sail from Digby at 4pm on Saturday has been changed to 3pm
The power supply in the area has been interrupted.
There were 6,600 outages in Nova Scotia as of 3:30 p.m. There were another 1,900 in New Brunswick, mainly in the southwest, and 250 in PEI
