The Phoenix Suns are 2-0 in their second round game against the Dallas Mavericks. They have now won 11 consecutive wins against the Mavs, tied for the third longest active winning streak in every NBA game. Luka Doncic and Co. return home for matches 3 and 4, where they have the best record (23-5) and defense rating (106.5) in the league since January 1st. Phoenix came to Dallas after boasting the best road record (32-9) in the regular season. With a quarter to go, the Mavericks have a double-digit lead over the Suns.
Chris Paul improved to 9-1 in direct career matches against Doncic after the Suns’ 129-109 victory in Game 2, although the Mavs star finished with 35 points, seven assists and five rebounds. For the series, Doncic scored a total of 80 points; no other Maverick have scored more than 28 points in both losses combined. Dallas is 1-9 in the series of the best of the seven, when it lags behind 2-0.
