A 6-year-old boy from Connecticut was badly burned when a young neighbor doused a tennis ball with gasoline before setting it on fire and throwing it over the child’s face, a report said.
Dominic Crancal was playing in his backyard in Bridgeport on Sunday when he was harassed by an 8-year-old boy who snatched petrol and a lighter from a shed before persuading a child to approach him, according to NBC New York.
“As soon as he came down the stairs, the bully called out his name and lured him around the corner,” said the boy’s sister, Kayla Deegan.
“A few seconds later, he came back around the corner, shouting, saying, ‘Mom, they set me on fire!’ I was set on fire! ”
Kayla said the sadistic act was done on purpose and the neighbor harassed her brother in the past.
“What he did was pour petrol on a tennis ball, take a lighter, light it and just throw it right in my brother’s face – and then run away from him and watch him burn,” she said.
“Two months ago, under the supervision of the bully’s mother, he was pushed into a wall and fell to the floor. Again, the mother refuses to admit that her child did it.
