This is the weekend, which means it’s time for another Dealmaster. Our latest review of the best technology deals from across the web is topped by numerous discounts on good computer games. Most of them are due to the return of the annual “Mega Sale” of the Epic Games Store, which began earlier this week and lasts until June 16.
As with previous promotions from Epic’s computer game store, the new sale is most notable for offering an unlimited coupon that applies to every purchase of $ 14.99 or more. In previous sales, this coupon was a flat discount of $ 10, but Epic says it will now give a 25% discount. That means you won’t save as much as you used to from cheaper games – a $ 15 game that would drop to $ 5 after applying the coupon in previous sales will now cost $ 11.25 – but you’ll get a little more back with the games closer at full price. For example, a newer game like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which usually costs $ 50 per computer, can be purchased for $ 37.49 after using the coupon here.
You will need to log in to your Epic account and request the coupon manually first, but once you do so, it will automatically renew after each use until the sale ends next month. Keep in mind that you only need to have games worth at least $ 14.99 in your cart to apply the coupon: Something like Ars’ Disco Elysium, which sells for $ 14, will not qualify for the additional 25% off your own, but if you add another discounted game to your cart to exceed the $ 15 threshold, the coupon will apply to the two titles separately upon payment. As with previous Epic sales, the coupon does not apply to DLC or in-game purchases, nor will it work with pre-orders.
As coupons accumulate on current sales discounts, many of the prices here are lower than we have seen in sales from competing storefronts such as Steam or Humble. So to help you find a bargain again, we’ve sorted through Epic’s entire selection to choose the discounts we think deserve your attention. You can find our full list of favorites below, but some highlights include new lows approved by Ars Zelda Tunic, satisfying Roguelit Rogue Legacy 2 and other generally well-rated 2022 games such as kung fu brawler Sifu and the aforementioned LEGO Star Wars. Blockbuster computer ports like Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War and Death Stranding are as cheap as we’ve seen, and a few smaller-scale games we like are also at low or near low levels. Epic says it will also continue to hand out free play every week as part of the sale; for starters, this is Borderlands 3. If you don’t see the game you want in our review, we recommend using a price tracking site like IsThereAnyDeal to make sure you’re getting a real discount.
