The body was found in search of the missing man Joseph Day

A man’s body was found in Avon Gorge and officials have informed the family of missing 31-year-old Joseph Day.

Avon and Somerset police said officers found and found the man’s body early this morning (Tuesday, May 3). The forces said no official identification had been made yet, but that the family of the missing Joseph Day had been informed.

A statement from the forces said: “In the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, May 3), police found and found the body of a man in the Avon Gorge, Bristol.

“While the official identification has not yet been made, we have updated the family of the missing 31-year-old Joseph Day. Our hearts are with them and we thank them for their patience as the investigation into the circumstances of the death continues.

“We will ask the public to avoid speculation and respect the confidentiality of Joseph’s family at this time.

Joseph Day moved to Clifton in January from New Zealand with his partner.
