25-year-old Kier Brian Granado is ranked 3rd on the list of the most sought after Bolo program in Canada.
Granado is wanted in Canada for first-degree murder in connection with the shooting of Hussein Merhi, 26, in Monterey Park on December 13, 2015.
The $ 100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest was already in effect before he made the list. This award expires on July 20.
All of the top five on the list have significant cash rewards for tips leading to their arrest. The biggest prize of $ 250,000 is for the best fugitive on the list, Abilaziz Mohammed, who is wanted by the Toronto Police Department in connection with a murder in this city.
The Bolo program, which means “be vigilant”, was launched in 2018 to use social media and other media boosting techniques to bring Canada’s most wanted people to justice.

Bolo program director Max Langlois said the group works separately from, but in partnership with, police and crime stoppers across Canada. The money for the prizes comes from the Stéphan Crétier Foundation and is distributed by Crime Stoppers.

Not all fugitives have cash rewards associated with their arrest, but Langlois said the money helps generate leads in some cases.
“Sometimes it is very difficult because these investigations have gone without a trace, without advice for years,” Langlois said. “It’s something we excel at.”

Langlois said that although this is a new national program, most of the 25 most sought after are from the Toronto area. He said it was simply due to the population.
“We will continue to work with EPS and CPS and other police services in Western Canada as we see fit,” he said.
Sgt. Martin Schiaveta of the Calgary Police Homicide Squad said the information award leading to Granado’s arrest expired last summer, but the influx of tips means they have decided to extend it.

“We believe he is in the Greater Toronto area,” Schiaveta said. “I currently have investigators working on the ground, and TPS is looking for him in Toronto.
He said investigators also believe he is linked to suspect No. 5 on the Tommy Ngo list, who is wanted by Toronto police in connection with a fatal stabbing.

Schiaveta said investigators believe the two men were backed by the same criminal organization.
Granado had previously been linked to the FK gang in Calgary, according to police.
Schiavetta said co-operation between Bolo, Crime Stoppers and the Calgary Police Department was a positive step in these ongoing investigations.
“I can definitely see the Calgary Police Department working with Bolo in the future,” he said.
