A child was rushed to hospital after falling from a building in Scarborough on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened in an apartment building near Brimley and Ellsmere roads around 3 p.m.

Police say the child fell on about two floors. They are believed to have fallen either from a window or from a balcony, according to police.

The nature of the child’s injuries is not immediately clear, although paramedics say they were conscious at the scene and were taken to a trauma center as a precaution.

Police later said the injuries were not life-threatening and the child is expected to fully recover. The fall is not considered suspicious in nature, police said.
