The driver survives after his car was pushed by a dump truck on highway 401

A man from Ontario escaped from a horrific crash on Highway 401 without any physical injuries after being pushed by a dump truck about half a kilometer.

“Happy. Thank God he gave me new life,” said Sayed Hussein, 47, in front of Humber River Hospital late Friday afternoon.

Hussein’s family said he was driving in the collector lanes near the Keele Street exit around 10:30 a.m. when a dump truck hit the back of his Honda Civic.

Hussein’s family said that after he was hit, the car turned and at one point turned into a position facing the driver of the dump truck. He was said to have been pushed about half a kilometer along the highway by the collector lanes in the ambulances.

“He was shocked all the time. It was very stressful, “said a relative of Hussein, translating Hussein’s words from Urdu.

Hussein drove 401 from Ajax to work in Toronto. When his family learned of the crash, they were shaken and upset.

“It’s really a miracle we see him alive,” said daughter-in-law Bushra Kazmi.

“He has a 10-year-old son, he was really crying when he heard about the incident, my sister was crying, the whole family was in shock.”

Ontario provincial police have responded to the crash. Police said the truck stopped because of the help of other drivers on the highway.

“Other drivers in the area had to honk and get the driver’s attention to stop, and when he stopped, he realized there was a car in front of his car on the bumper bumper, with the male driver apparently panicking about what was happening,” said a sergeant. . Carrie Schmid.

On Friday afternoon, Hussein was surrounded by worried family members as he was released from hospital after some tests and computed tomography scans.

Kazmi said Hussein was in shock after the crash and had some pain in his body, but no broken bones or any signs of scratching.

Family members say they are happy and grateful that he is alive and doing so well.
