A man from Greater Manchester has been arrested after a “kind” father of two died after a fight in front of a nightclub. Officers were called in for an incident in front of Glow Nightclub in Lancaster at 4.30am on Sunday (June 12th).

Joshua Hughes was reportedly involved in an accident in which he fell and hit his head on the ground. The 22-year-old from Morkam was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Josh’s friends and former colleagues at Edmundson’s furniture in Morecambe paid tribute to the “fun” and “nice” dad, who they said would “not hurt a fly.” A complaint has been filed to raise funds for funeral expenses.

The friend said, “He would not harm anyone and he would not harm a fly. He had a little of everything for himself. He was hardworking, very family-oriented and would do anything for his girlfriend, sister and children. He had two small children. “

He said Josh worked in the warehouse – loading and unloading wagons – and had many friends from school who were devastated by his death. He added: “I don’t really know much about what happened, but he was a devoted father and lived in Morecambe. It’s scary how something like this can happen; I don’t know what happened and how it happened

“This makes younger people afraid; I now have an eight-month-old child and I would never go out now. This is scary for growing children and will not make them want to go out and enjoy the nightlife they have to enjoy.

“The only word about it is shocking.” Joshua was rushed to Royal Preston Hospital, where he had two emergency brain surgeries, and was left to fight for his life in a coma.

A statement from the Gofundme website reads: “He has a loving family, a girlfriend and two young children who are abandoned, full of heart and sadness because of someone else’s actions. We are asking for donations, no matter how big or small, that will go to cover the cost of his funeral and will support his family, girlfriend and young children through the upcoming challenges. “

There was also an outpouring of respect on social media. Many were left “devastated”, praising a “wonderful boy” who “would be sorely missed.”

Claire Riley writes, “Thoughts come to the whole family and friends.” thinking of Josh’s family. “

Forensic scientists are continuing to investigate the incident. A woman who was previously asked by police to be tracked down has now been identified.

DCI’s Jane Major Webb’s investigative team said: “This incident resulted in the loss of a young man’s life and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. They continue to be assisted by specially trained officers.

“I would urge anyone with information to come out and talk to us. If you can help, please contact. “Anyone with information should call Lancashire Police on 101, citing Diary 279 of June 12. To see the Go Fund Me page created by friends of Josh Hughes, click here
