York’s regional police have arrested a 25-year-old man who they say claimed to be a police officer at a Markham massage parlor when his request for free sexual services was rejected.
Police said they responded to the incident at the restaurant on April 8, after receiving a call for a dispute.
A man appeared in the salon and allegedly asked for free sexual services. After the business refused, the man allegedly said he was an undercover police officer.
He was arrested, and police later confirmed that the man did not serve in law enforcement.
The suspect, Janisan Jayakumar of Markham, was charged with posing as a peace officer and receiving paid sexual services.
Police released a photo of him Friday, “to ensure there are no more such incidents.”
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the human trafficking department at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 6800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
