The Manchester United team against Chelsea includes Alvaro Fernandez and Hannibal Maybri

Alvaro Fernandez was included for the first time in the Manchester United team for the match.

United face Chelsea in the Premier League on Thursday, and although any chance of finishing in the top four has already disappeared, they will still seek to end a horrific streak. However, the task is complicated by the fact that Ralph Rangnik works with a very exhausted team.

Edinson Cavani, Luke Shaw, Fred and Paul Pogba continue to be removed, joined by Jaden Sancho, Harry Maguire and Aaron One-Bisaka. With so many injuries, the interim manager had to use some of the club’s exciting prospects to make up for the numbers.

As a result, teen left-back Fernandez won his first senior call-up after joining the first team’s training sessions this week. The Spaniard has been impressed since joining Real Madrid in 2020 and is enjoying a strong season with the Under-23s, scoring four goals and six assists.

Fernandez has joined fellow juniors Hannibal Maybri and Alejandro Garnacho, who have been featured on the bench in recent weeks for Chelsea. Promising striker Shola Shorethair was also drawn.

The 18-year-old made his debut last season, making three appearances, but this year his progress has stalled. Shoretire played only once with the first team in the current campaign, when he entered as a reserve in the second half of the group stage of the Champions League against Young Boys in December.
