It doesn’t matter if it’s raining on our parade. Mother Nature decided to make heavy snow on Friday morning and this led to the cancellation of a long-awaited local event.

Environment Canada said the city can expect to see 10-15 inches of snow before it falls in the afternoon.
The sudden and unexpected snow necessitated the cancellation of the Calgary Expo parade, which would see hundreds march in their best costumes for movies, cartoons and comics in the city center.

There is a 30% chance of snow turning into rain in the afternoon, which could create slippery conditions for driving while rushing home in the afternoon.
So far, Calgary Transit has not reported any delays and it appears that traffic is still not reported on city roads.
Early tonight, rainfall may continue with clearing later in the night.
Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds and Sundre are also under snow warning.
The good news from all this is that the weather over the weekend looks very nice with sunny skies and 12 degrees high for both Saturday and Sunday.
