Rangnik believes full pre-season training will help Ten Hague at Man United

It is reported that the appointment of Eric ten Haag was met with an incredible response from the locker room of Manchester United.

The Dutchman was confirmed as the next boss of Old Trafford on Thursday, after signing a three-year contract with a fourth option, leaving Ajax at the end of the season. Ten Hague plans to bring his own coaching staff with him, as Mitchell Van der Haag will join as his number 2 despite all Ajax’s efforts to keep him in Amsterdam, offering him the chance to be Ten Hague’s successor.

The 52-year-old is ready to bring in former England boss Steve McLaren, but Wayne Rooney will remain in Derby County after rejecting the chance to seal the dream return of Old Trafford. Ten Haag and his team have a monumental task to turn the club’s fate with problems that continue on and off the field.

There has been a disharmony in the locker room since the start of the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with several players who are not committed to the United cause and are looking to move away from the club. And it is clear that not much has changed since then – even after the dismissal of the Norwegian and the temporary takeover of Ralph Rangnik – based on their reaction to the appointment of Ten Haag.

The Guardian claims that the arrival of the Dutchman was a mixed reception from the United team, with some players “ambivalent and others dissatisfied”. The Mirror exclusively revealed during United’s search for a new manager that Mauricio Pochettino is the locker room choice to take over from Rangnik, but it’s hard to see why Ten Hag is viewed so negatively.

The Ajax boss is a proven winner and is known for playing attractive football and developing players, something the team has to cry about given the season they are playing. The fact that his appointment was not met with sincere positivity summarizes the huge task that lies ahead for Ten Hag, as the locker room obviously cannot be fixed.

This supports United’s plans for a big clean-up with 12 players ready to leave the club in the upcoming window. Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Lee Grant are ready to leave as free agents, while at least six other players, including Aaron One-Bissaka, Eric Bailey, Phil Jones, Alex Teles, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford can join them. This will allow Ten Hag to begin its overhaul with Ralph Rangnik, who estimates there will be up to ten newcomers

Ten Hag will have a budget of £ 200 million to work with this summer, with Harry Kane, Declan Rice, Darwin Nunes, Ruben Neves, Iurien Timber and Anthony among his goals.
