The release of Queen Elizabeth’s “closely guarded” medical records has been criticized

Royal expert and biographer of Meghan and Harry Omid Scobie has criticized the publication of private medical data about Queen Elizabeth.

The journalist took aim at the British newspaper for revealing the Queen’s “secret battle with cancer”.

On Twitter, he wrote: “One minute the Daily Mail is ranting about how disrespectful the Crown is, the next they’re paying to serialize a book revealing the Queen’s ‘secret battle with cancer’ just 12 weeks after her death.”

He said: “Personally, I think that unless it comes from the Palace or HMTQ itself, personal medical data (which has always been strictly guarded) should remain just that. It should never be okay to make that decision for someone else.”

Scobie was referring to a forthcoming book titled Elizabeth: The Intimate Portrait by Gyles Branderth.
