A second woman has publicly accused Trump-approved Nebraska Gov. Charles Herbster (right) of sexually misconduct after a Republican state senator claimed earlier this month that she had been improperly touched by Herbster.
Elizabeth Todson, in a statement provided by her lawyer, claims that she was sexually touched by Herbster in 2019 and said that her experience was “described in detail” in previous reports by the Nebraska Examiner.
“I have struggled for years with the experience I had with Charles W. Herbster. At a political event in 2019, Herbster touched me sexually as he greeted my table. That was the night Herbster aggressively grabbed Senator Julie Slam, “Todson said.
“This decision to tell my story was extremely difficult because of my fear of the consequences of Charles W. Herbster, a powerful voice in Nebraska politics. But after thinking about it for years, I know it’s time for the people of Nebraska to find out about the horrific acts of Charles W. Herbster, “she added.
Todson called Nebraska Sen. Julie Straw (right) “brave” and “a strong role model for all women” after Slama confirmed to Examiner earlier this month that she had been touched inappropriately by the Nebraska mayoral candidate.
According to the publication, the incident in 2019 happened during a national fundraiser. Todson told the Examiner that she and other friends were sitting at a table they knew was paid for by Herbster.
When the Republican donor greeted the table, she told the news that “his hand went to my ass. It was a rapture. At that moment, I tried to push back, but I couldn’t. It was as if he knew I couldn’t say anything. “
Herbster’s campaign said Todsen’s allegations were part of a “slanderous attack” on him, and said he denied the allegations.

Earlier this month, eight women accused Herbster of sexual misconduct while speaking with the Examiner. The report prompted a bipartisan group of state senators to call on Herbster to drop out of the race.
Slama then confirmed to the Examiner that Herbster had touched her inappropriately during the same fundraising campaign in 2019 after she lifted her skirt without her consent as she passed. Herbster’s campaign manager told the news that the candidate denied the allegations.
Former President Trump is due to overtake Herbster at a rally in Nebraska on Sunday after a delay due to bad weather.
