The meeting was attended by three cabinet ministers – Mr. Heaton-Harris, Oliver Dowden, the Tory chairman, and Mark Spencer, the mayor.
Other allegations of sexism were made. An MP described a man in a knee-length leather skirt as saying: “This is nice clothes. What do you do for your daily work?”
Theresa May, the former prime minister, attended the meeting and said many were surprised by the allegations.
Ms. May’s intervention in the conversation was about the need to make sure that suitable Tory candidates would be nominated for the election, according to many sources in the House.
Asked by the Prime Minister, Mr Johnson was asked about allegations that three cabinet ministers were among the MPs facing complaints of harassment and harassment, including whether the former would be fired.
He said: “Of course, sexual harassment is unacceptable and it is perfectly right for members to have a procedure through which they can bring it to the attention of the House authorities. I think this is a good thing, and of course sexual harassment is grounds for dismissal. “
