The Woodhead Pass was blocked tonight (Friday) after a truck dropped its load. Pictures from the scene show dozens of things that look like large wooden sheets scattered on the road, pavement and field on the outskirts of Glossop.
Drivers are advised to avoid the road – the main route through Penini between Greater Manchester, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. The clean-up operation is likely to take “some time”, police said.
