A drunken thug hit a teenager in the head before boasting that “this little donut is asleep” in a brutal attack in the city center.
The brutal thug Aiden Dancy hit the head of a 17-year-old man so hard that he knocked him out and left a mark, the court heard. Dancy, 30, hit a stranger on the ground during a night out in downtown Liverpool in a sudden and unprovoked attack.
Then he boasted, “That little donut was asleep.” Carpenter Dancy claims that the teenager somehow threatened him with a knife – a lie that a judge dismissed as “ridiculous”.

The victim told him in a statement to the Plymouth court that he was just lucky to be able to leave without serious injuries. But he said his head was so sore when he rested on a pillow that he struggled to sleep for two weeks.
PlymouthLive said Dancy has a long history of assaults and was convicted in the same court in 2019 of assaulting a man who was on a first date with an ex-partner. He climbed through the window of the Barbican woman’s apartment and hit him on the head, leaving him with scars for life.
Bringing him back to prison for 16 months, Judge William Musley told Dancy: “You were in the center of Liverpool tonight. This 17-year-old was outside, behaving decently and not trying to attract much attention.
“You punched him on the floor so he was unconscious and hit him on the head. You were aggressive and offended by others who cared about him. The photos show the pattern of the shoe on the side of his head, which clearly shows that you had the stamp on it. “
The judge said that Dancy did not say anything at first in the interview when he was arrested later that night, before he made up what he called a “ridiculous story” about the 17-year-old who has a knife. Dancy of Leithfield Drive, Derifd, pleaded guilty to assault causing grievous bodily harm on September 12, 2020.
Nigel Hall of the UK Attorney’s Office said the victim did not recall the attack near the Baa bar on Fleet Street due to his injuries – although he was filmed by CCTV footage shortly before 1:30 p.m.
He added that the teenager’s girlfriend was a few steps away and turned to see him on the ground. Mr Hall said she asked the stranger why she had hit her boyfriend and he swore and said he would hit her next.
A porter at a nearby Black Rabbit bar said Dancy and three other men had just been denied entry. He later told police they instigated other clubs before Dancy hit the teenager.
The lawyer said that Dancy and his friends left the scene, but returned to the area later – and the porter pointed it out to the police. Mr Hall told the court that Dancy said, “That little donut was asleep.”
The court found that the victim was taken to hospital with a swollen and bruised face, which has traces of shoes. Mr Hall said he was “confused and scared” when he showed up.
Mr Hall, reading a statement from the teenager, continued: “I was sick for about two weeks, I couldn’t sleep properly because it was painful to put my head on the pillow. It was one of the first times I was out in Liverpool and this incident shattered my confidence. “
The court heard that Dancy had identified 17 crimes, almost all for assault. He was licensed during the Liverpool attack following his release from a 26-month sentence for the July 2019 Barbican attack and other crimes.
He was also convicted of assaulting two ambulance officers two months after the attack on the teenager.
Rebecca Wood, for Dancy, said she was at a birthday party for one of her brothers, but was not used to drinking. The lawyer said he remembered “a little” from the incident and was “shocked” by his actions.
Miss Wood added that he was the main caregiver for his mother and a respected carpenter. She added that he has a supportive partner. She added: “He is hardworking and family-oriented.”
