In fact, some are thinking of heading to Los Angeles to catch a game there. And when you compare that option to a Rogers Place playoff ticket, it’s not really terrible.

“As soon as the games were announced for Los Angeles, we had a huge increase in people calling for flights to Los Angeles, packages and even tickets for the match,” said Hidar El Mais, a travel agent with Travel Gurus in Edmonton.

“We managed to get a few customers, all booked and ready to play. I know many of them are excited to go.

“When you add flights, hotels and tickets to the game, great places, by the way, are still cheaper than Rogers Place.”

A Google search on Tuesday showed that flights from Edmonton to Los Angeles are expensive – a one-way trip with Air Canada in five days will cost you more than $ 1,000. There are also ultra-low-cost carriers that fly to Burbank, El Mais said.

“As soon as that announcement happened, prices doubled,” El Mais said.

He said tickets for the playoffs in LA – in the bottom cup – are about $ 110 USD. Ticketmaster has top-level resale tickets at Crypto.com Arena starting at $ 118. With the exchange this is about $ 150 you can on the spot.

Together, this is still approximately $ 70 less on the spot than the cheapest tickets available for Game 2 at Rogers Place.

If you include accommodation, four nights in a hotel near the arena – we estimated E-Central Downtown – will cost about $ 1132 CAN. But if you share the room with someone, it’s about $ 566 each.

“We are absolutely amazed all the time by the passion of the Oilers fans.

“We know our fans are traveling all over North America. At every rink we go to, we are thrilled to see these Oilers fans cheering for the team. “It’s no different than Games 3 and 4 in LA,” he said.

“I know the players are excited that these Oilers fans are applauding them.

Shipton said he had heard that many fans were planning trips to LA, including a very special family.

“Our good friend and Oilers playoff ambassador Ben Stelter and his family will be in LA for Game 4. They are on a family trip to Disneyland.

“We know we’re going to have a lucky mascot and an ace up our sleeve for Game 4,” Shipton said.

“My father and I booked, we’re going to LA, we’ll be there for Game 4,” he said.

“I’m lucky enough to have friends there who invited me to their lodge, so my father and I will have a great time in LA.

“I’m excited. It’s good to see the Oilers playing right on the street here, it’s nice to feel the atmosphere of our hometown. But it’s also very nice for us to be able to travel to LA and support the team down there. We’ll all wear Oilers and I know that my father is also excited.

Advice from someone in the travel industry? Book soon.

“Do it now,” El Mais said. “There is flexibility. You can book some trips that are flexible only in case the match dates change or do not happen. The hotel is also very important. You can also put the hotel on hold without paying and you have the option to cancel the day before. ”

And if your LA vacation isn’t on the map for you, there are Oilers watching parties at Rogers Place for away games. Tickets are $ 5 and will go on sale Wednesday at noon.
