A collision of three vehicles, which closed part of Highway 401 in Scarborough for hours on Sunday, caused two serious injuries.
The crash happened in the eastern express lanes of the highway near Kennedy Road shortly after 4:15 p.m.
Ontario provincial police said a transport truck drove off the back of a passenger vehicle and then removed another car from the side.

One person had to be taken out after the collision, Toronto Fire reported.
Two people were taken to a trauma center in a serious but life-threatening condition, paramedics in Toronto said, adding that five others had received minor injuries.
The collision led to the prolonged closure of all eastern express lanes near Kennedy Road, leaving many others on the highway.

Road cameras filmed people getting out of their vehicles and standing in the road.
Some were also spotted turning their cars around and driving in the opposite direction to get out of traffic.
The highway was reopened shortly after 8 p.m.
